It is believed that Osgood Schlatter disease is caused by inflammation of the insertion of the patella ligament into the tibia at the tibial tuberosity (where the kneecap ligament inserts into the leg bone).  It causes pain, tenderness and a lump of the tuberosity.  Osgood-Schlatter disease is generally considered to be caused by small injuries by repeated overuse before growth of the area is complete. It is common in children who play active sports. Osgood-Schlatter disease affects more boys than girls.  Others say it results results from the pull of the large powerful muscles in the front of the thigh (called the quadriceps). The quadriceps join with the patellar ligaments, which run through the knee and into the tibias to connect them to the knees. When the quadriceps contract, the patellar ligament can start to pull away from the shin bone, causing pain.      Regardless of the controversy, the Osgood Schlatter knee pain and swelling can be reduced by using a Goode Wrap.

Growing Pains almost always occur at night while the child is in bed. Unless the pain is caused by some other problem such as bone or muscle disease, the growing pains will pass with time.  It is good to have an examination but if you’re sure that they are growing pains there does not appear to be any permanent damage. There are a couple of indicator of growing pains that can be considered: If it always affects both legs it is probably growing pains.  If the pain is just one leg, never the other, then the child should be examined by a physician for Osgood Schlatter Disease. Also, if the joints show redness or swelling of the legs, a rash, fever or a limp it is not growing pains, see a doctor.

Osgood Schlatter Growing Pains

The knee wrap for my son's Osgood Schlatter Disease enabled him to keep up his heavy training and playing activity in basketball when he was considering stopping and dropping out of the State team.  I am interested in ordering a Goode Wraps shirt for James. He is six foot seven, 85 kilograms and fourteen years old, so has been on a serious growth curve. This has made his muscles very tight. The shirt seems like a good way to relax his back and shoulders. Do you have an appropriate size for James. If so I will order it.

"I suffer from tendonitis in both of my heels, verified by my podiatrist with x-rays.  This form of arthritis is excruciatingly painful, rather like a nail imbedded in your heel.  And there is little that can be done for this condition through traditional ankle medicine.

thank you.  i just received my second pair or compression shorts.  i had a problem with my upper leg for months.  i finally went to my doctor who diagnosed it as a groin pull and suggested physical therapy.  rather than go through that i ordered your shorts.   after wearing you product for a short period of time i was able to run again without pain.  i call them magic shorts.   i don’t know if it’s a placebo effect or if the thing actually works.   what’s more, i don’t care.  my leg is almost 100% now.  unbelievable.

Again, I must thank you for your prompt reply and excellent levels of customer care. You are absolutely right about the status of the refund and in fact I received a letter confirming the refund in last afternoon's post. Thank you very much, and I apologize for wasting your time. I have mostly purchased goods online within the UK and am therefore a bit dubious bout returns, etc. as there is hardly any after sales back up over here and the normal practice is to wait and chase matters up via the phone which in turn means either the number is busy, or the call is held in a queue for minutes at a time and if one is lucky enough to get through and leave a message, the call is mostly never returned and the next day or next week one has to start the whole process again.  But I would never hesitate in buying goods from your company (hope to God I don't have to though)! and would gladly recommend it if ever the need arises. I’m sending back the Goode Wraps and would like you to refund my money. I have found that I need a more intensely concentrated force on the muscle spasms that I get. I left the wraps on for a full day and had no results with the muscle knots. I like the convenience of your products and the materials that they are made out of were fantastic, warming and soft. I wish they had worked for my condition; they are easier to use and less noticeable under clothing.
