OSGOOD SCHLATTER STRESS Disease ( Tibial Tuberosity
Apophysitis or Osteochondrosis) of one or both knees is an overuse syndrome.
Girls 11 to 12 and Boys 13 to 14 involved in active sports such as bending,
jumping and running develop this problem. In the past, it was more common in
boys but with girl’s sports becoming very popular, more girls are also at risk.
They will experience tenderness, swelling and pain under the knee on the upper
shin bone (tibial tuberosity water fluid) A bony bump that is painful when pressed could
appear on the upper Tibia below the kneecap. This happens when they have a
growth spurt. Sports such as ballet, gymnastics, basketball, football, soccer
and volleyball put a lot of stress on the large muscle (quadriceps) on the top
of the thigh. This puts tension on the band of tissue (patellar tendon) that
connects the knee to the big bone in the lower leg (tibia.) To prevent this you
can do stretching exercises for the quadriceps, hamstrings and calf muscles.
Sports Injury Specialists such as Chiropractors, Orthopedic Surgeons, Primary
Physicians, Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers would suggest treatments
for Osgood Schlatter Stress. They might suggest Rest-Ice-Compression-Elevation
(RICE) to reduce the inflammation and pain. A more serious and painful injury
is apophysis fragments water fluid. If the Sports Injury Specialist says it is associated
with an over stretched tendon (avulsion injury) it could tear the tendon away
from the tibia and could take a chip of bone. This stress will go away when
the growth spurt is finished. If they can play with the pain the specialists
usually recommend they play but recommend RICE. Changing to another sport such
as swimming or cycling until the symptoms subside is a choice.
It is very unusual for me to

It is believed that Osgood Schlatter stress is caused by inflammation of the
insertion of the patella ligament into the tibia at the tibial tuberosity (where the
kneecap ligament inserts into the leg bone). It
causes pain, tenderness and a lump of the tuberosity. Osgood-Schlatter
stress is
generally considered to be caused by small injuries by repeated overuse before growth of
the area is complete. It is common in children who play active sports. Osgood-Schlatter
stress affects more boys than girls. Others say it results results from the pull of
the large powerful muscles in the front of the thigh (called the quadriceps). The
quadriceps join with the patellar ligaments, which run through the knee and into the
tibias to connect them to the knees. When the quadriceps contract, the patellar ligament
can start to pull away from the shin bone, causing pain. Regardless
of the controversy, the Osgood Schlatter knee pain and swelling can be reduced by using a

up his heavy training and playing activity in basketball but he was considering stopping and dropping out of the
State team. I am interested

I’m sending back the Goode Wraps and would like you to refund my
money. I have found that I need a more intensely concentrated force on the muscle spasms
that I get. I left the wraps on for a full day and had no results with the muscle knots. I
like the convenience of your products and the materials that they are made out of were
fantastic, warming and soft. I wish they had worked for my condition; they are easier to
use and less noticeable under clothing.
