"I'm
recovering from surgery of both knees. I've found a great product that has eliminated my
pain. They do have University Research reports on-line, but being an engineer I figured
I'd do my own research. I used the wrap on my right knee and left my left knee as the
control group. I've been doing this for a little over a week and my right knee feels
dramatically better (no more stiffness in the morning, or pain when I sit for long
periods). The result of my extensive:) research: I'm going to get another wrap for my
other knee."| Jennifer D, recovering from ACL surgery, posting to Internet. |
"Well, I have been using my wrap for several days now and I definitely feel better. Less stiffness and pain after sitting for long periods. I wear it to sleep and during the day if possible. I expect to wear it to sleep until my ACL knee feels just like my other knee. I would definitely endorse this product. |

| "I dont believe in miracles or the supernatural. And I dont
read horoscopes. But Ive got to tell you that the results of my applying the Goode
Wraps patches to my foot have been visible, tangible, and overwhelming. For all of my professional life in the US Army and beyond, I may not have been athletic, but exercise was always an important part of my life. About two years ago, however, the pain in the right foot was so intense that I was reluctant to continue my morning jog. Further, my foot doctor said it was unwise. The shots he gave me helped relieve the intense pain, but the throb continued, and I was reluctant to do anything to aggravate the condition. About two weeks ago I applied some of the items you sent me: socks and patches. The effect was immediate. Today, Im pleased to report, that I felt no discomfort whatsoever in my foot, where the pain was the greatest. And thats before and after a one-mile run this morning. Further, the swelling on my left foot has all but disappeared." |

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- It may be unnecessary for athletes to fasten themselves into cumbersome braces after a specific reconstructive knee surgery, new research suggests.
Injuries to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which stretches across the knee joint, are especially common among athletes whose sports involve jumping, turning and abrupt starts and stops. Part of the rehabilitation process includes wearing a knee brace for up to a year.
We didnt notice any difference after surgery between patients who wore braces and patients not wearing braces, said Christopher Kaeding, associate professor of surgery at Ohio State University. Our study implies a brace may be unnecessary after ACL reconstruction.
ACL braces were designed to stabilize the knee, to make it feel more trustworthy, said Kaeding, who sees more than 200 ACL injuries each year. The braces do seem to help some patients who havent had the surgery but have damaged their ACL.
What are Goode
Wraps?
|
They are elasticized
compression shorts or sports wraps. Each of
these is impregnated with a unique blend of natural rare-earth semiconductors. Goode Wraps are available for the hip, groin,
foot, ankle, knee, elbows, and wrist. In
fact, the semiconductors can be added to almost any cloth like material. |
What are they used
for?
|
Primarily to control
pain, swelling and stiffness. They are ideal
for tired aching muscles or joints from sporting activity, exercise and repetitive stress
injuries. The Goode Wraps help the muscles
regain strength and prevent or lessen the sharp pain in joints from tendon stress. In reality, pain in hip, and knee
joints can be nothing more serious than referred pain from myofascial trigger points (tiny contraction knots) in the
muscles of the hip and thigh. Even when a hip
or knee joint has suffered a verifiable physical injury, trigger points in associated
muscles always contribute a major part of the pain. Referred
pain can be every bit as intense and debilitating as pain from a damaged joint. Some researchers
suspect that trigger points may actually be the root cause of true osteoarthritis and
other kinds of joint deterioration. This is
because muscles afflicted with trigger points become shortened and stiff. When this happens, even normal movement puts undue
strain on muscle attachments at the joints, which can eventually result in damage to
connective tissue and distortion of the joints themselves. |
